Role Description

We're creating a platform to improve outcomes for patients with mental health and chronic medical conditions. We do this in many ways, from identifying patients at risk and routing them to the right specialists to creating a feedback loop between the primary care physicians and behavioral health specialists so they can collaborate on each patient's treatment. These patients are often lost in our healthcare system and don't get the right care at the right time. We want to fix that.

At Quartet, you'll have the opportunity to work on the core platform team which facilitates all of these interactions across our applications for doctors and patients. We pride ourselves on utilizing a variety of cutting edge frameworks, languages, and methodologies


  • Design and build the core distributed system that powers our patient's outcomes
  • Write unit and integration tests to ensure your services are working before deployments
  • Create monitors, alarms, and run books to make sure our systems are healthy and how to fix them when they're not
  • Document the design of software you write
  • Lead diagnoses of suboptimal outcomes and learn from them to improve our processes and software Make yourself and those around you better engineers


  • Experience working in distributed systems
  • Experience building and operating a fleet of web services and APIs
  • Interest in functional programming is a plus!( we currently use Clojure and Scala for our backend services)
  • Interest in solving real-world healthcare problems
  • A great sense of humor and an ability to add to our dynamic culture.
  • A desire to work on a highly-collaborative, mission-driven team.
